DEFENSIBLE SPACE

Wildland fire season is amongnst us here is Sonoma County as well as the rest of the State. The SCFPOs would like to remind homeowners to create and maintain clearance around your home. Proper clearance to 100 feet dramatically increases the chance of your house surviving a wildfire. This 100 foot defensible space also provides for firefighter safety when protecting homes during a wildland fire.

SEMINAR ON URBAN/WILDLAND INTERFACE INSPECTIONS FOR FIRE DEPARTMENTS

The Sonoma County Fire Prevention Officers Association is hosting a one day course in defensible space / wild land interface inspections for the Fire Inspector and Engine Captain. WILDLAND URBAN INTERFACE

As of January 2008 new fire safety amendments apply to Chapter 7A of the California Building Code. Wildland-Urban Interface building standards will be more stringent. What will this mean to you?
